St.John de-Zilva
The main tutor and co-ordinator, St.John has a unique teaching and industry experience spanning over twenty years. A QTS/DFE registered teacher he started teaching music technology at the BRIT School where he developed DJ Workshop, while starting out as a DJ at clubs like the Bass Clef, Vox and warehouses and on house station Girls FM in the early nineties. With residencies at clubs like the legendary blue note, notting hill arts club with Overlikeafatrat, Subterania and regular guest spots at Fabric, St.John has played his soulful, disco tinged, latin, jazzy, boogie and broken inspired leftfield sets afar afield as Sydney to the wintery climes of Norway. Having played DJ sets with the likes of Basement Jaxx, Roy Davis Jnr, Giles Petersen, Bob Sinclair, Seamus Haji, ATFC, Sole Music, Stuart Patterson, Phil Asher and many more .As a producer and remixer he has worked with the jazz funk outfit Retroactif, Apres midi, and has remixed Afroganic, Charlie Wilson amongst others and currently working with soul singer Lyndsey (the bionic woman).
